Obituary for Joyce Shaw

Littleton - E. Joyce Shaw, 93, passed away April 30, 2020 at her home in Littleton, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 19, 1926, in Littleton, the daughter of John and Pearl (Williams) Crawford.
She married Hartley Shaw on December 3, 1945. She lived and worked along side of her husband on their farm in Littleton while raising her family. She was a member of the Littleton Baptist Church, where she faithfully decorated with flowers every week for 50 years, sang in the choir, and served in other areas. She was a member of Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum, a member of Meduxnekeag Ramblers Snowmobile Club where she helped serve breakfast for 22 years.
Mom worked at Woolworths, Houlton Crafts and Sewing, and The Rusty Nail. Mom was the best cook. She enjoyed knitting mittens, hats and socks for her family. She loved to pick wild strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries which she made jams and pies for us.
She is survived by three daughters Gloria Fitzpatrick of Littleton, Margaret (Dan) Hoyt of Jacksonville, FL, Charlene (Philip) Chase of Houlton; a daughter in law Linda Shaw of Littleton, ten grandchildren Angela Bickford, Michele Buza, Marty and Adam Fitzpatrick, Wayne and Richard Shaw, Matthew and Andrew Hoyt, Timothy and Gavin Chase, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Hartley Shaw (2016) of 71 years, sons Otis, Johnny, and Preston; her sister Glenna Ivey; her brothers James and Harold Crawford. A graveside service will be announced at a later date. Donations can be made out to the Meduxnekeag Ramblers Snowmobile Club. To leave condolences and to share memories please visit
