Obituary for David Guy Sr.

MILLINOCKET - David R. Guy, Sr., 78, of Millinocket died Sept. 11, 2019 with his family at his side. He was born June 9, 1941 in Millinocket the son Frederick and Artline (Vienneau) Guy.

David was a well know area business man, starting his career after graduating from St. Martin of Tours Catholic High School in 1960. His first venture was as a milk man, managing and delivering dairy products for Grants Dairy. In 1972, he and his wife Marlene, purchased Sears, Roebuck Catalog store which they operated until 1993. During this time, David expanded into a start up business know as D & M Trailer Sales. David felt fortunate to at one time or another have all of his children work with him. He enjoyed all aspects of traveling, getting there, getting back, and going again. He also enjoyed camping, boating and socializing with new and old friends and family. David had an extremely generous heart which was witnessed many times by all those close to him.

He is survived by his children, Barbara and Bruce Legassey of Millinocket and Chris and Shana Guy of Glenburn. Two daughter-in-laws, Heather Guy of Pennsylvania and Rose Guy of Medway. Nine grandchildren, Brooke, Jordan, Jeffrey, Anthony, Whitney, Emily, Angela, Ryan and Megan and six great grandchildren. Two brothers Paul and Natalie Guy of Florida, and Terry and Eva Guy of New Hampshire. and sister Anne and Melvin Martin of Millinocket. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. His companion Nola Long of East Millinocket and family.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Marlene in 2008 and two sons, Jeffrey in 2004 and Dave Jr in 2018. Friends may call from 1-2 PM, Mon. Sept. 16 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Millinocket with a service following at 2 PM officiated by Father Bruce Siket. To leave online condolences please visit
