Obituary for Paul Leo Albert

Paul Leo Albert
SHERMAN - Paul L. Albert, 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 29, 2019. Paul was born in Soldier Pond, Maine on July 6, 1941 to Willie Pete & Margaret Albert. In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his father-in-law, Gerald Duffy, brother, Donald, sisters Rena, Maxine, and Pauline. Brothers in law, Carl Gade and Worley Tate, son-in-law, Kevin Merry, and nephew, Christopher Marston.

Paul leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Sandra Duffy Albert, his daughter, Darcy Merry, son Ryan and his wife Tammy of Bangor, Jason and his wife Elizabeth of Hermon, and Lindsay and her husband, Adam Hall of Bangor, Five grandchildren, MacKenzie and Carly Merry, Jaelen and Sydney Albert, and Jaxton Hall. Sisters Priscilla and her husband Earl Bates, Arlene and her husband Gerald Santoni, and Sandra Gade. Brother Raymond and his wife Linda Albert. Brother-in-law Terry Duffy and his wife, Catherine, sister-in-laws Lana Robinson and her husband Billy, Mona and her husband Kevin Craig, and Maria and her husband Terry Martin, mother-in-law, Margaret Duffy, He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifetime friends.

Paul was a hard working man. At a young age he began a career in the logging industry hauling pulp for his father before moving to Sherman to pursue a 20+ year career at Sherman Lumber Company. He was famous for his pulp loader skills. He met the love of his life, Sandra Duffy Albert and married her in 1963. He worked hard and took a lot of pride in his work ethic. They raised four children in Sherman, Maine. When Paul wasn’t working, you could usually find him at one of his favorite places, Perry Pond, where he enjoyed some of his favorite hobbies; enjoying a friendly game of horseshoes, singing old country songs, and telling the same jokes over and over. In Pauls retirement years, he enjoyed mowing lawns, grooming trails, fiddleheading and meeting up for a cup of coffee with his family and friends at the round table at Brenda’s restaurant. He loved to attend his grandchildren’s sporting and theatre events and go for rides around the loop with his beloved shit tzu furry friends. Paul will be remembered for his work ethic, sense of humor, and big heart.

Paul was a friend to all and he will be missed terribly by everyone who knows him. In Paul’s memory may we all remember to laugh, sing, work hard, and enjoy every day to the fullest with those we love most.

Paul’s family would like to give a sincere thank you to Dr. Martin Hrynick and Karen Laflamme, PA, the Visiting Nurses Association, and the Patten Ambulance Service for their tender, loving care throughout Paul’s illness.

Friends may call from 2-3 PM, Wednesday, July 3 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church followed by a mass of Christian burial at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers in Paul’s memory simply tell a joke and make someone smile. To share stories and send condolences go to www.bowersfuneral.com
