Obituary for Therlia Marjory St. Germaine (McLellan )

Therlia Marjory St. Germaine (McLellan )
STACYVILLE - Therlia St. Germaine, 102, died June 28, 2019. Therlia was the last surviving child of 11, born to Elbridge and Idella (Bragg) McLellan, on January 5, 1917. She was married to Leonard St. Germaine for 68 years before losing the love of her life in 2003. Therlia had two beloved daughters, Shirley Sperry and Jeanne Stout.

Therlia and Leonard lived most of their lives in Sherman, after Leonard retired from the lumber mill they wintered in Florida for many years where Therlia touched even more lives and found many dear friends. Therlia was an avid reader until her eyesight failed her. She loved to play games, whether playing cards or Parchessi with her sisters or Scrabble with her daughters. Her love of games continued to the very end as she could often be found playing games with all her dear friends at Mountain Heights. Some of the family's favorite memories are of times spent every year, all together, camping at Matagamon in Baxter State Park. Therlia was her happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Everyone was family or a friend because Therlia never met a stranger. One of her very favorite things to do was cook. Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews always looked forward to her delicious cooking, from hearty meals to amazing desserts, all cooked with love. No one ever left Therlia's home feeling hungry. Her faith was very important to her and brought her a great deal of comfort. Her and Leonard were lifelong active members of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sherman, where they were married.

Therlia was predeceased by her husband, Leonard, both daughters and their husbands, Shirley and Richard Sperry, Jeanne and Raymond Stout, brothers, Bertrand, Thomas and Delmont McLellan and sisters, Edith McLellan, Arlene Glidden, infant sister Flora, Beulah McLellan, Carrie Nadeau, Elthea Astle and Beryl Roberge.

She is survived by 5 grandchildren, Michael Sperry and wife Nancy of New Gloucester, Patrick Sperry and Husband Mike of Suffolk Va., Scott Stout and wife Brenda of Glenburn, Sandra Patrick and husband Tom of Holden, Stefanie Goodine and husband Kris of Hermon. 7 great grandchildren, Megan, Andrew, Sara, Ben, Adam, Mercedes and Tanner. 1 great, great granddaughter Lily. Many nieces and nephews and a very special sister-in-law Sister Fatima St. Germaine of Portland.

Her family was blessed to have had her for so long, she will be greatly missed and her love will go on in them, but they take comfort in the fact that she and Leonard are together again.

The family would like to thank the staff of Gardiner Healthcare Facilitly in Houlton for the love and care they gave to Therlia.

A celebration of Therlia's life and Catholic Mass will be held 3 PM, Tues, July 9, 2019 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 1063 Benedicta Rd. Benedicta, Me

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Benedict Catholic Church, Bible Camp fund.
