HOULTON - Anson T. Taber died May 16, 2018, in Houlton, after a lengthy period of failing health. Anson was born on April 2, 1928, the son of Harry A. Taber and Lucy (Crawford) Taber.
He was a life long resident of the town of Houlton, graduating from Houlton High School and Ricker College. After completing his education, Anson pursued a career in construction, building many homes in the Aroostook County area. He was a member of the Monument Lodge of Masons number 96, Anah Temple Shrine and the Houlton Lodge of Elks.
Anson was predeceased by his wife Velma (Madore) Taber. He is survived by his son, Thomas H. Taber and his wife, Barbara Taber of Carrabassett Valley and his son, Timothy J. Taber and his wife, Phyllis Taber of Portland, OR. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Patrick Taber, James Taber, and Megan T. Noghrey; three great grandchildren and very special friend, Janet Bates.
At Anson’s requested there will be no calling hours or funeral service. He will be laid to rest in a private family graveside service at a future date. Donations can be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital c/o Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, ME 04730.
