PORTLAND and MILLINOCKET - June Glidden, 96, passed away November 25, 2017 at the Barron Center in Portland after a long illness. June was born November 28, 1920 in Millinocket, the daughter of Harry Dwyer and Lucy (Russell) Dwyer.
She was raised in Oakfield and attended Husson College in Bangor. June worked as a school teacher for 4 years then married Stanley “Toby” Glidden on May 1, 1944. They had 7 children and as they grew older June returned to work as a substitute teacher in the Millinocket School Department for 20 years. June had many hobbies which included cooking, knitting, and playing card games.
June is survived by 5 children, Russell Glidden, Candy Kidney, Beth Manzo, Jill Boynton and Perry Glidden; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. June was predeceased by her husband in 1985; two children, Tommy Glidden and Dawn LaPlante; three sisters, Jacqueline Kendrick, Barbara Crandall and Dawn Larlee.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 30 at the First Congregational Church of Millinocket, 11 Maple Street with Rev. Terry Jean Given officiating.
