Obituary for Elizabeth May "Betty" Perkins

PATTEN - Elizabeth May Perkins, 95, died October 10, 2017 after a brief illness. She was born October 12, 1921 in Swampscott, MA, the daughter of Raymond and Viola Wood.

She married Norman K. Perkins on February 4, 1939 and resided in the Patten-Sherman area most of her life. Betty worked long hours on the family farm and later at JM Huber Corporation in Patten. As a lifetime Eastern Star member, she served one term as Worthy Matron. Betty and Norman travelled extensively during their retirement, in great part due to their affiliation with the Anah Temple Shiners. Betty also enjoyed baking, Bingo, summer trips to Lamoine State Park, and playing cards with family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth and Nancy Perkins of Patten, George and Julie Perkins of Benton, and Linda Perkins of Glenburn; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman and her daughter Marion Perkins Goodenough.

Graveside funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, October 13th at the Patten Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to the Shriners Children's Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield MA 01104. For an online memory book and to leave condolences please visit
